Assessment
When doing formative assessment in a formal way, I like to keep a checklist in my marks book to see who has completed the work and who hasn't. However, formative assessment is done continually as supervision of work occurs. This helps pinpoint areas where students are "not getting it", areas where additional instruction is necessary and also aids in providing valuable information to be passed on to educational assistants or to a special needs coordinator.
